Don't forget that 'Meet the Creature Teacher' Night is on Thursday October 2 from 4:30-6:30. I am looking forward to meeting all of you! I will be stationed out of room 123 (my new home with Mme. Gunn's class). Since this is a casual meet-and-greet, I would ask that you please not inquire about your child's progress on Thursday. I would be happy to schedule meetings any time you like, and you are always welcome to email me, or contact me with any questions!
We all have our new homes now, too. Just a reminder, I am teaching Math and English to both Mme. Gunn and Mme. Al-Qedra's classes, and ONLY Math to Mme. Winters grade 4. :) Please note that all grade 4 students will have a quiz this week on place value and rounding! Please practice at home! I have announced my first contest winner, as well! I am surprised that with ALLLLL of the reminders in class to check out my website, I only had 13 of 75 students enter. Maybe next time, it will be more popular. Who knows! :) More updates, soon! Ms. W. We are trucking along :) So much progress has been made!
Find specific updates on Mme. Gunn's page, and on Mme. Al-Qedra's page. I expect Scholastic orders to be in by the end of the week. Did you notice the contest? Also, many parents have express an interest in how to help at home. I would encourage you to check out this page on my site :) More soon! -Ms.W. Wow! What a crazy start to the school year! A few reminders for tomorrow:
- It is the Junior Team Building Activity Day and we will be outside for the entire afternoon! Dress for the weather :) It appears that it will be a little chilly! The grade 4s will be welcomed into their intramural houses! Fun! - Tomorrow is the last day for Scholastic Book Orders for myself and Mme. Gunn's class. Please read through my Scholastic page if you have any questions and remember that Mme. Gunn and I need separate cheques because we are separate teachers ordering in separate languages on separate accounts :) Also, cheques are needed as we cannot send cash through the mail. I also think that a classic Ms. Wilson Scholastic contest will be in the works for October so stay tuned! :) - 'Me Bag' assignments really do not require anything to be written, so please do not insist that your children write for it! We are only going to be looking for 4 main things: 1) that instructions for filling the bag are followed, 2) Eye contact with audience, 3) Body Language, and 4) volume of speech! Easy peasy! We will be practicing on Monday. And an additional WELCOME! to all of the new subscribers! Hopefully this sees you well :) Wow! What a crazy first day back :)
It is so nice to see all of the smiling (and some familiar) faces today! I'm looking forward to diving head first into Language and Math tomorrow. Thank you to all of you who have subscribed already! Hopefully this makes it to your inboxes :) I know many of you are looking for ways to help out around the school, and our lovely librarian Mme. Poirier has just the solution!
